Can you help, boyfriend had prostate removed due to cancer, after sex, he has frequent urination for days?

Its been over a year since the surgery to remove the prostate. Boyfriend still wear pads urine leakage. He wont have sex, because he suffers with frequent urination for days after and he needs to be treated with antibotics. Its not me, because we were active prior to the surgery and had no problems. Then there are times we dont have sex, I just give him oral , and he has the same problem. Could there be something going on in his bladder or ureatha? Any suggestions would be appreciated at this time.

What surgery did he have?
A radical prostectomy where the whole of the prostate was removed?
