Have you regretted putting your mom or dad in an old age home?

My mother needs help, but it breaks my heart to put her in an old age home with so many patients suffering under demence. I can’t do it.
I’m not able to care for her at my home for various reasons. Assisted living is fine, but she needs more help then that.
She’s too fit for an old age home, and too feeble for assisted living. Help! What else is there?

If I were you I’d stop calling it an “old-age home.” (If I were your mom I’d probably smack you.)There are otherwise normal people living in nice accomodations. Call or visit a few assisted-living places and ask for their recommendation.
