What does it mean to be a top or a bottom?

I don’t exactly understand what it means to be a top or a bottom. In other words, does it mean that bottoms do not like to penetrate their partners? or does it mean that bottoms have ED? Its simple. A top is the dude who does the penetrating (the “pitcher”) and the bottom is the one who gets penetrated (the “catcher”). But believe it or not most gay men don’t really fit into one exclusive category. Most gay men that I know are what we call “versatile.” Thats pretty much self-explanatory. Top = The person who sexes
Bottom = The person who is sexed
ED doesn’t really have anything to do with it, especially considering lesbians can be tops and bottoms too (and there is obviously no penis present, erect or otherwise).
It just has to do with whether a person prefers giving or recieving pleasure more. Or whether you would rather be “in charge” of the sexual contact, or in more of a submissive role.

hmm. now that you ask it i can’t really explain it. in all types of sexual contact there is the distinct toppers or bottomers. Some people prefer one or the other, but then you have some that do both but let the other one have their choice because they would rather see the pleasure of their partner than have their own pleasure. I say I’m a top, but i am not always on the top. I get my pleasure from giving pleasure more than receiving it. Just seeing the other one wrapped in ecstasy is more than I myself being wrapped in it. So, it just depends on the couple/person.
